  • 14 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Ikiwa mtu anaweza kutengeneza stakabadhi bandia bila Wizara husika kujua, basi pengine cheti changu cha kumiliki shamba langu ni bandia. Pengine shamba langu tayari limeuzwa bila mimi kujua. Tunajua watu hawa walinunua mashamba ... view

  • 14 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Motion. First of all, we need to start by lowering the price of sugar and then we go to maize flour and all other essential commodities that are used by the common mwananchi. I support the Motion. view
  • 7 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to address part (c) of the Question. I want the Assistant Minister to accept that it is extremely difficult for the Ministry to cushion Kenyans against the rise in the prices of petroleum. According to the information that was given in this House, petroleum products are imported once a month by one company. That is the cartel that controls the price of petroleum products. Could he confess that it is extremely difficult to control the price of petroleum products, and that Kenyans will continue to be exploited by those cartels? view

  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I think the Minister misunderstood the Question itself. The Question is not about the shortage or storage of maize but about the high cost of flour. If the Ministry of Finance is not going to come up with an answer on how the high cost can be reduced, then I do not know how the Ministry of Agriculture will come up with an answer on the cost of maize flour. view
  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, first of all, I want to thank the HBC for assisting us. The issue on the Floor of the House was exhaustively discussed. We came to an agreement, my co-whip and I, that the Committee should be reinstated and allowed to work as it was without replacing a name or making judgment. As to the letters that were written by some Members to say that they resigned, the HBC has come to a conclusion that we will not discuss those letters. The Committee should get back, sit down and deliberate on their business. Indeed, if ... view
  • 24 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also stand to support this Bill which has been brought by my brother, the Attorney-General. I want to make my contribution on the basis of my profession as a businessman. The purpose of this Bill is partnership and making laws in terms of partnerships, according to my understanding is that, it should be based on protecting the interest of Kenyans. The experience I want to share with this House is that in a small country like the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today, no foreigner can move there to set up a business, operate it and ... view
