  • 26 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I welcome the efforts the Government is making to save the farmers from this disaster. Could the Assistant Minister extent the same gesture to some other parts of the country? It is not only parts Njoro and Mau-Narok divisions, which were affected because of failure of rain; but there are other parts of the country which were also affected. There have been a lot of crises where farmers are not going to harvest because of lack of rain. view
  • 25 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Can the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife confirm that part of this land in Trans-Nzoia is part Mt. Elgon Forest? When does he intend to surrender it to the Government? Again, can the Minister also tell the House when he intends to leave Trans-Nzoia to go back to where he came from? view
  • 25 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think, for the benefit of the Minister who was enjoying his afternoon siesta, I will put it very clear. Could he confirm that part of the land that he owns in Trans Nzoia is part of Mount Elgon Forest land? We are talking about forest reclamations. That is the land that was grabbed from the forests. When does the Minister intend to hand it back to the Government? The Minister has put it very clear that those people who own forest land should surrender it to the Government and go back to where they came from. ... view
  • 18 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. As much as we want to support the Government’s initiative to reduce poverty in this country and to ensure that people have food, I would like to seek one clarification from the Prime Minister. Rural- urban migration is one of the things that are discouraged in most countries. This programme, perhaps, is going to be one of the ways to encourage people to migrate from rural to urban areas. In this process, infrastructure and most facilities are going to be hampered in terms of facilitating proper services to the people of this nation. So, ... view
  • 29 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The statement by the Prime Minister is not going down very well when he says that MPs are using this platform for chest-thumping and political mileage. It is important for him to respect Members of Parliament of Rift Valley Province because we were elected to discuss issues that are affecting our people. If there is anything that is burning, we have an obligation to air it. view
  • 29 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Is it in order for the Prime Minister--- view
  • 29 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, what I wanted to ask is that is it in order for the Prime Minister to say that Members of Parliament from Rift Valley Province are seeking cheap politics by introducing politics in the Mau Forest issue? view
  • 29 Jul 2009 in National Assembly: No, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 28 May 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, the land issue remains emotive all over this country. The way the Assistant Minister is trying to articulate it shows that they are very reluctant to address it. view
  • 28 May 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, could the Assistant Minister assure this House that they are going to put in place measures to ensure that the farms for which there are no title deeds in places like the Chebyuk Settlement Scheme, where people fight every now and then, are issued with title deeds? view
