  • 1 Sep 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I also stand here to support this Motion for Adjournment to enable us to go out there and be with our people having been here for a good time. We, as Parliament, have done a good job. It is good time for the Members to go out there and even extend civic education on the new Constitution that we recently promulgated. I believe many of our people want to know how they will benefit from this new Constitution. Indeed, they are being told that they are in a new Kenya. They are wondering what ... view
  • 1 Sep 2010 in National Assembly: Together with that, we also need to address the issue of the dairy farmers. If you look at the cost of producing one litre of milk vis-a-vis the money that farmers get from selling it, you will find that they are not related in any way. In fact, they are putting in more money and getting little every day. This industry is in danger. Therefore, efforts should be made, particularly by the Ministry of Livestock Development, to assist in terms of encouraging them and even proposing subsidies at the very beginning to ensure that dairy farming does not die. It ... view
  • 18 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Considering that REA electrification system is targeting places like boreholes, shopping centers, secondary schools and health facilities, what is the Assistant Minister doing to ensure that the area through which the power is supplied benefits the locals, individual homes and various other interested parties? view
  • 18 Aug 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for noticing me. I want to thank the Minister and her staff for the good work that they are doing at the moment by addressing this very important aspect of human health. I have in mind to commend her particularly for what she was able to do when we, in Rongai, had a very serious problem. There was a lorry that was involved in a road accident and which occasioned loss of more than 100 people. The role that Ministry played by consoling and assisting those who survived cannot go unnoticed. I want ... view
  • 15 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the hon. Member to mislead the House that the water coming from Malewa serves Baringo? view
  • 15 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Minister clarify her statement that water comes from Malewa to Rongai since that is not the truth? There is no single drop of that water coming to Rongai. She needs to clarify this so that the House and the nation should not be misled because the water coming to Rongai originates from Molo area and not Malewa. Could she confirm to us whether this Malewa water goes to Baringo as has been alleged by my colleague who has proposed to take me on a geographical tour and yet I come from that place? I know ... view
  • 15 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. In our endeavour to try and encourage our farmers to produce enough, particularly for the Strategic Grain Reserve, and to ensure that they compete with the imported products, particularly wheat and maize, what are you doing to ensure that the prices of inputs, particularly those of fertilizers and diesel, are lowered? That is because you are the spokesperson for the farmers? view
  • 7 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like to confirm to my colleague that, indeed, the law court in Kabiyet is among the very many courts that we are supposed to build during this financial year. At this point in time, I may not be able to give him the exact amount that has been allocated for that purpose. I can share this information with him later because I want to give him an accurate figure as to how much has been allocated in this financial year. view
  • 7 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I will do some follow up on that. I know that we are doing very well and we are almost concluding the construction of the Kisumu High Court. In fact, this is a project that we gave Kshs70 million. Therefore, I am satisfied that the progress is on. I believe the construction will be completed very soon. view
  • 7 Jul 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have always said in this House and I would like to repeat today, that I want to give to my colleagues promises that the Ministry can fulfill. At this point in time, we may not be able to provide mobile courts for Kabiyet because it is among the courts that are to be constructed. There are more deserving cases and we would like to provide mobile courts in those hardship areas. I would like to appeal to my colleague to be patient. We will do our best to ensure that the people of Kabiyet have ... view
