  • 28 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. We listened to the Assistant Minister at the beginning, when he was responding to this Question. He confirmed that there are no title deeds that have been given out so far, because of disputes. He is now talking about some title deeds that exist. Is it in order for him to refer to some title deeds that do not exist yet he had said in the beginning that there were no title deeds? view
  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, thank you for giving me this opportunity to make my contribution. First and foremost, I would like to thank my brother, Mr. Wamalwa, for bringing this Motion before this honourable House this morning because it is so important. It is addressing one important part of the society in Kenya who for a long time have not been given the necessary attention. It seeks to set up a fund for purposes of providing land to the squatters that have been left without a place to stay. They have been made not to feel like other Kenyans. This ... view
  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, when it comes to settling the landless, it is a very important challenge that we need to address carefully. All along since Independence, there has been settlement of people named as landless or squatters in various places of our country. When you look at the format of doing it, it has been very discouraging because those who implement it have been basically giving land to people related to those in power or those who have “connections” instead of looking at people honestly and giving the genuine squatters a chance to own land. • 11 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the funds that come to the constituency are always intended for groups but there are certain youth who have got good ideas that they would like to implement on their own. What is the Ministry doing to ensure that this money can also reach individual young people who are enterprising and would like to set up businesses for themselves? view

  • 21 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, now that you have already given me this chance, why can you not allow me to respond? I can respond now or when the right time comes. view
  • 21 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: On point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. In January, February and March seven people were killed in my constituency. The Assistant Minister seems to be misleading the House, that in Baringo North Constituency, there were no killings associated with cattle-rustling. Secondly, my constituency has given out names of people who we believe are involved in cattle-rustling. view
  • 21 Jan 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, is the Assistant Minister in order to give an impression that some constituencies, including my own, have not given out names of suspects? We have given out names, but no action has been taken. Is he in order to say that they have not managed to arrest anybody? view
