  • 22 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: This Authority together with all the other relevant Government wings need to look seriously at the plight of the police. Before we come to a point of seeing whether they are behaving properly or not, we may need to pull together all concerted efforts to make sure that they have the relevant infrastructure to do their work properly. view

  • 8 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for allowing me to add my voice to this important Motion brought by my sister Mishi. Aware of that Act that my Hon. Member was quoting the other time, we agree that there is a serious need of, once again, looking at the educational plight of the children and people with disability and special needs all over the country. That is so that they can learn in one way or the other. I want to bring it to the attention of the House that much as all the speakers have been concentrating on thinking ... view
  • 8 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: If you read the Motion that Hon. Mishi brought forth, you will realise that there are a number of challenges. That truth is that if that Act or policy was implemented and I know it has been implemented in some areas, there is a lot that is lacking. The area of teaching is a problem in most of these schools. You will find that a school has been declared as able to accommodate pupils with special learning needs but there are no personnel. This cuts across the country. • 2 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Ahsante, Mhe. Naibu Spika wa Muda. Protect me from the other Members.
  • 31 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to air my views concerning that Statement. I thank my colleague for bringing it to the House. I also want to say that it is a very unfortunate thing if it happened that way. view
  • 31 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: However, I have the following to say. I join her in calling upon Kenyans of all walks to respect what I call “holy books”. Her Statement concerns an incident where the teacher stepped on the Quran. To be honest, I do not think it is right. As the Departmental Committee on Education and Research, the other day we listened to very nagging stories from the same region; the northern and North Eastern, from people who go to teach there from other communities and who are Christians. view
  • 31 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: We listened to a serious story about members of the Islamic community burning Bibles belonging to Christian teachers. Why I brought up that perspective is not to demean what this current situation is talking about, but to show that something is happening in our country which if not checked, will degenerate into religious animosity, which is not necessary. view
