  • 2 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. As we thank the Minister for that elaborate answer, I would like her, further, to indicate to this House, which criteria was applied in considering the location of the 500 boreholes, because the people of Lari were left out in that arrangement? view
  • 2 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Minister for this very important document, which has come out after 46 years of Independence. I also extend similar congratulations to the Ministerial team, which was key to the consolidation of this Report. In addition, I wish to extend my congratulations to the Cabinet, which gave the final approval to this document. The two principals, who fully participated in the deliberations on this document in the Cabinet, also qualify for congratulations. • 26 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Once again, I would like to direct a question to the Vice President. Aware that this problem has been unprecedented and the whole thing has been triggered by serious congestion at the prison hospital, aware that we have lost 18 lives at the prison, could he, or the Ministry for that matter, consider giving financial assistance to the families affected because I know that some of the relatives of the prisoners at the Kamiti Maximum Prison are very poor, indeed? That is in terms of supplying coffins and any other assistance that may be required. view
  • 26 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I am being affected by the debate that has been developed in this House. My observation is based on two points. Now, this issue is very critical and the whole nation is expectant of fruitful discussions on this particular issue that we have. But I think that when we are driven by certain feelings against personalities managing national institutions, we will not be heading anywhere. These inclinations will derail the entire work that we are doing for this nation. If we remember, we have very good work that is taking place at the Kisumu Airport. ... view
  • 25 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for the opportunity to direct a question to the Assistant Minister. Aware that there has been a lot of fear and ferries are stalling in the waters, what is the Ministry doing to introduce new ferries at the Kilindini Port so that lives of passengers are not jeopardized? view
  • 25 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, we hail the Prime Minister for making a very credible Statement to this House. I would urge him to indicate to the House how much money has been misused, or misappropriated, and what action he is taking against the culprits to deter further misappropriation of the same and create confidence in the Kenyan people. view
  • 24 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would like the Minister to indicate to this House the extra measures he is putting in place to make sure that the required information is received by the Ministry to facilitate faster this payment. view
  • 19 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. As the Assistant Minister has very ably responded to this Question, because it applies to North Eastern Province and noting that serious commitment, could the Assistant Minister, at the same time, indicate the amount of money that they have already earmarked for this facility so that this marginalized area could also appreciate the construction of the court facility? view
