  • 8 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I want to ask the Assistant Minister whether he is actually aware that one of the major reasons as to why the doctors have gone on strike is poor facilities or lack of facilities that are necessary for them to save lives. Our doctors have actually watched helplessly as patients die, whereas the diseases killing them are actually treatable. Are we turning our doctors into undertakers, who handle bodies, instead of facilitating them to be able to save lives? view
  • 1 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that we have GMO experts at Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). Is he aware that KEBS lacks the capacity and equipment to conduct GMO testing currently? That is a very important firm for quality and standards of grains in Kenya? view
  • 27 Oct 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister tell us whether Kenya is in a position to use technology to trace stolen animals? There are tracking devices which are electronically activated. view
  • 17 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Prime Minister for that detailed statement. I want to ask him whether the Government may consider making it mandatory for registration at secondary schools and colleges. Will it be necessary to have a national registration day or week, so that we register as many youths as possible? view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. In fact, it is a great shame that Kenyans are still facing famine 50 years after Independence. Every two to three years, the Government has to be fire-fighting because some sections of Kenyans are suffering from famine. What has the Government done to subsidize fertilizer prices as well as give free inputs to those poor farmers and also assure them of good prices and market for their produce? view
  • 15 Jun 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, my query is on the Efficiency Monitoring Unit (EMU), which is within the Office of the Prime Minister. Why did the EMU not detect the crime early enough? I believe that the EMU was set up, so that it could detect crimes of this nature before they get out of hand. view
  • 26 May 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Transport:- (a) whether he could state the number of road accidents which have occurred at Mlolongo Trading Centre from 2010 to date, indicating the number of injuries and fatalities; and, (b) whether he could urgently prohibit the dangerous parking of lorries by the roadside at the centre, which is the major cause of accidents due to obstruction to motorists and pedestrians. view
  • 26 May 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for that answer. However, I want to confirm that the 28 accidents per year could be under-stated. That is because I am a frequent user of that road towards my constituency, Machakos, and I have witnessed more than five accidents, personally. However, I understand that 28 accidents are very many in a year. Could the Assistant Minister inform the House what urgent steps he is going to take to minimize the number of accidents and loss of lives? view
  • 26 May 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has actually stated in his answer that the Traffic Act, Cap.403, Section 52 prohibits parking of vehicles by the roadside, and that the traffic police are expected to ensure that all motorists adhere to traffic rules without exception. Is he then admitting that the Government is unable to enforce its own laws? What particular action would you advise me to take as a Back-Bencher to handle a situation where the Government is unable to enforce its own laws? view
