Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to make some comments on this Report. I am one of the Members of this Committee. I had the opportunity to tour the coast with this Committee. First, I want to congratulate the Committee for the work that they have done in visiting and interacting with the people of the coast in matters education. We visited the five counties at one go and this, I think, is a very good thing in terms of Committee work. Similar problems facing similar counties can be addressed together. This visit, which went ...

We have consistently said that we do not want to refer to the Report. What we are hearing are people citing parts of the Report. We are waiting to make comments in the three minutes that you gave us and we are still waiting.

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. First, I would like to appreciate the ruling of the Speaker, which has enabled us to have a chance to debate this Report which is before us. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, like my colleagues, I also wish to congratulate the Committee for a job well done. The word “investigate” is scientific. It is used when we form a Committee here. It means that the decisions that we make are as a result of the findings that we arrive at after investigations. So, I wish to address the nation and let people know that we ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I also wish to take this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency the President and the entirely leadership of the National Security Council and indeed all Kenyans for the deployment of the security forces to help in a neighbouring country. This message of congratulating and showing support for His Excellency the President is a morale booster for our soldiers when they are on the ground maintaining peace. One of the things that we know is that there is actually no peace to keep in South Sudan. This is one of the things that we must admit and therefore ...

Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I also wish to congratulate Senators, my colleagues. We can pat ourselves on the back because of what we have done in this period. More particularly today we have been able to table the Bill on the flagship ...

Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, first, I would like to appreciate my colleague Senators who have contributed to my first ever Motion in the Senate or anywhere else and I am really appreciating their contribution. It has become very clear from the contributions that we are doing very poorly in assisting the elderly in this country. In fact, the way we have been treating the elderly in this country, makes it a very terrible thing to get old in this country, under the current system. The care for the age is continuously becoming a challenge in this country. Therefore, we need ...
