  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, considering where Kambirwa Airstrip is and the pressure of land in that area, what guarantee is the Minister giving us that this land will not be grabbed, so that by the time he needs to develop an airstrip to cater for tourism in that area, he will not lack land? The land has not been utilized for a long time. view
  • 24 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: I am grateful for the answer by the Assistant Minister that he is aware that relief food, particularly from Maua was stolen. But according to the directives which are given and this time on 5th May, 2010, the food was supposed to be distributed by the District Food Security Committee. How would a young man, who is just about 24 years, take the maize and sell 64 bags whereas the food was in the hands of the District Security and Food Committee as directed by this Ministry? view
  • 24 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, considering that when the Assistant Minister toured my constituency, we discovered that on 17th June, relief food for Mawingu which amounted to about 2,000 bags which were supposed to be collected from Nyahururu were also missing. Considering that a senior officer who was co-ordinating the exercise in the region has been suspended, what is the Assistant Minister doing to unearth the actual corruption which is exploiting the IDPs who are in a very unfortunate situation? view
  • 16 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads :- (a) whether he is aware that Road C83, which joins C77 with C99, was designed in 1994 and 1997 for tarmacking but it is yet to be tarmacked, and how much money was used for the two exercises; (b) whether he could state how much money was used, how many kilometers were tarmacked and the fate of the remaining part of the road; and (c) what plans he has to tarmack the road which links two district headquarters and one provincial headquarters. Mr. Speaker, Sir, first of all I apologise because I do not ... view

  • 16 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to tell the Assistant Minister that the information about the design of Road C83 is common knowledge because it was given to previous contractors. The Assistant Minister has not even answered my question regarding how much they used in terms of what he is referring to as minor sealing or tarmacking to hold the gravel. Could the Assistant Minister tell us how much money they used for both design and the issue of sealing the road to bitumen standard to cover the gravel, and whether that was the purpose for the design work? view
