there seeking help from the person they elected to lead them! Where do you want me to send them now?â The Minister had no answer to give to the President, but he told him to try his level best and see how the problem could be solved. Kenyatta told him; âYou and that DC who told them to leave that place, I want in the next two days to hear that they have been settled.â If the Government is in place, where else can we send these Kenyans? Where shall we tell them to go to be assisted? IDPs are ...

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has missed the point. What I am saying is that they should be paid a higher salary to enable them to hire low class groups of workers. Unity is very important! We need it in this country and it is up to the politicians to stop preaching hatred wherever they go. We should speak about one country and stop cheating our people that---

On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Judging from the weight of this matter and the number of people waiting to contribute, may I kindly ask that we reduce the time for every hon. Member from 20 minutes to five minutes.

Nakushukuru, Bw.

Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity to make my contribution on this Competition Bill. I have some reservations on the way issues have been arranged here. There is this Authority that has been mentioned. Clause 10(a) states that a non-executive Chairman shall be appointed by the Minister. It also states that the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for the time being responsible for finance or his representative; the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for the time being responsible for trade or his representative; and the Attorney-General or his representative will comprise the Authority. I have reservations because ...

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also take this opportunity to support this Motion on the adoption of this Report. I want to agree with hon. Wamalwa that it is only gentlemen who live by their own words and who need to stand and give commitments.

Despite the fact that PAPM is based in Webuye in the western part of Kenya, it is an institution that belongs to Kenyans. It must be understood that by having a successful factory that generates profits and creates jobs for Kenya, it is not only an institution that benefits that one area but the whole country.

I am saying that because jobs will be created. If we are talking about Kenyanization, at the end of the day, you will find people from all corners of this country working there. By employing young men from different parts of this country; the girls that hon. Wamalwa has said have turned to prostitution will not be able to do that because they will find husbands to marry them. At the same time, the same institution will pay taxes which will be remitted to the Central Government. The same money will be used to develop this country because we only ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I also take this opportunity to support the adoption of this Report that was presented by Ms. Shabesh. Kenya was fully represented and the face of the country was seen in that meeting that took place in South Africa. It is good to recognize that this country is in the world map. Kenya is in the map of Africa and at the same time in the world map. This country is expected to provide leadership and come up with a great example to show that Kenya can lead and it has what it ...
