  • 24 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I also want to make my contributions and say that when it comes to minimum tax I also oppose. A case in point is the construction industry where you have to pre-finance the works. You pre-finance works. If you are taxed at the minimum and maybe you will be finishing that work in three years and you will make your profit towards the end, it is very hurting. I would like to ask the Chair of the Committee as Hon. Nyikal has said, that on this one, you need to reconsider. It is really going to ... view
• 11 May 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. From the outset, I want to thank the Committee for doing a great job. It is high time we established our own television and radio station, so that we can broadcast the right information. Currently, unless it is negative news, it is really hard to get covered. One of the challenges we have with the media currently is that sometimes journalists are paid on what they submit to those media stations. And unless you get to the headline, the way to get to the headline is to submit negative news; it is ... view

  • 29 Apr 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I have been here since 10.00 a.m. As a mathematician, I have tried to calculate. When you allow every Member to contribute for 15 minutes, it means only four members can contribute within one hour. If we are to run from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m., it means only 30 members will contribute. Since this is a very critical Bill, I am proposing that, as the House leadership, you find a way of allocating us, as individual Members, specific times when we can come to speak. ... view
