  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, free primary education has assisted quite a number of parents who were not able to take their children to school. The money which is being released to various districts, in most cases, does not reach the schools it is intended to. Could the Ministry appoint somebody, specifically in the district education offices, to follow up this money, instead of secondary school heads, individually, having to follow up the money at the Ministry headquarters? view
  • 2 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, quite a number of electricity projects have been done but very few of them have been commissioned. Primary or secondary schools are being asked to pay Kshs126,000. Could the Assistant Minister clarify why those primary and secondary schools are being asked to pay Kshs126,000 instead of Kshs32 per metre? view
  • 18 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Government spends a lot of money when there is no food in the nation. There are those farmers who are willing to grow maize and other agricultural crops. Could the Minister consider assisting those farmers to buy agricultural inputs tax free? For instance, there are very few farmers who can now afford fertiliser. 684 view
  • 11 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, when a Question is asked in this House, it lies within the domain of this House. It is very disappointing for the Assistant Minister to refuse to answer such a Question. Could he, please, tell us how much money was spent to cater for the Kiruki Commission of Inquiry? Are those innocent Kenyans, who were sacked from their jobs, going to be reinstated? April 11, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 505 view
  • 4 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Ministry of Local Government started so many bus park projects all over the nation. About 90 per cent of those bus park projects have stalled, for example, Kericho, Kisii and Gucha bus parks. What is the Assistant Minister April 4, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 335 going to do to make sure that these bus parks are completed instead of leaving them idle? view
  • 4 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr.Speaker, Sir, the Rongo-Homa Bay Road is very important. If you pass there, you will take about five hours to get to Homa Bay from Rongo. It is a road on which fish from Lake Victoria to Nairobi is transported. Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister now allocate more money to repair such roads awaiting for the next financial year to give his Kshs2 billion for the repair of the same road? view
  • 5 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, arising from the Assistant Minister's answer that, it is easier to maintain the road from Samburu District than from Laikipia District; further, knowing that most of the roads have been washed away by the rains, and that most of our resealing units have no work because they have no money, is he going to fund the resealing units countrywide to repair the roads that have been washed away, especially the road from Mukisi to Sotik? view
  • 30 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, arising from the Minister's answer that the 2,000 acres were grabbed, which was public land and the Ministry has gone ahead to spend public money to buy 800 acres, was it not necessary for the Government to repossess that land from the grabbers instead of spending public money to buy land? view
  • 22 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: , on behalf of view
  • 22 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: I appreciate the good answer which has been given by the Assistant Minister. When we meet next, as the Gucha DDC, we will discuss and agree on the sub-division of the two sub-locations. However, what is the number of "population" which is enough to make a sub- location? view
