  • 18 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, rural access roads are very important because they connect main roads to various towns. The Ministry has a bridges department. Could the Assistant Minister tell us how much money the department has for such emergencies? view
  • 17 Oct 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I wish to congratulate the Minister for Health for doing a good job. Most of our dispensaries do not have clean water. The Minister should make arrangements so that these dispensaries get clean water and electricity. Also, some of the facilities we have constructed using the CDF money have no staff. view
  • 27 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I thank the Minister for the good answer he has given. The Government has given that road which covers Kisii and Transmara Kshs182 million for construction works. What is the estimated total cost to complete that road? view
  • 26 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, there is a problem at City Hall. Once the developers submit their plans for approval, it takes even up to six months! That results to a lot of corruption at City Hall. What is the Minister doing to assist developers to get their plans approved within a limited time, so that they can develop houses in this town? view
  • 26 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I appreciate what the Ministry is doing. We have started to see a number of projects being initiated around the country. The policy of the Ministry is to supply electricity within a 600 metres radius from where the cables are running. This is a very good thing. Could the Ministry advance some soft loans to people who want to be connected to electricity, which they can be paying on monthly basis? People in the rural areas cannot afford to pay Kshs32,000 before they are connected to electricity? view
  • 20 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, when hon. Members ask about ambulances for their respective health facilities, they are doing the management work which should be done by the Ministry. Could the Assistant Minister tell us how many health facilities, especially district and sub-district hospitals, he has supplied with ambulances and how many are remaining? view
  • 19 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, insecurity is very bad now. Most of the thugs have moved from urban centres to the rural areas, where they are not getting any resistance. Could the Assistant Minister consider sending more Administration Police officers to the rural areas to protect people? So many people have their lives lost because of the thugs who are not controlled. view
  • 13 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Hon. Members have always complained about many people being killed. We are given the same answer whenever such a Question is asked in this House. Could the Assistant Minister assure this House that when such a Question is asked, he will follow up the case and ensure that the culprits are brought to book instead of answering it for the sake of it? For example, six people were killed in my constituency but up to now, we have not known who killed them. view
  • 12 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate what the Minister has told us, last year, there was a borehole which was sunk in my constituency up to 100 metres, and there was no water which was found. They moved the equipment from the site and they have not told us what they will do next. What will the Ministry do to make sure that the people of Tukia Mwana area in my constituency have water? view
  • 21 Jun 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is it in order for the Assistant Minister to say that the Ministry cannot give any money for emergencies to support such calamities because we have the CDF? view
