  • 27 Sep 2018 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think my colleague has been with me in this House since 2013 and he knows the rules. It is a bit unfortunate that at this particular stage, because yesterday he mentioned Sen. Olekina, a colleague who was not in the House. It is happening again today; he is mentioning a Cabinet Secretary who has not been summoned by the House to come and--- I think we are going outside the jurisdiction of this House. He is not in order and I want you to rule on that. view
  • 27 Sep 2018 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I have just heard Sen. Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. mentioning Prof. Swazuri and kongoi missin . I do not know kongoi . Is he in order? view
  • 27 Sep 2018 in Senate: On a point of order Mr. Speaker, Sir. Members should take your rulings seriously in this House. When you have ruled on a particular subject, then it stays as a ruling. However, when Members keep on repeating the same mistakes and the whole country is watching, it is not fair to see your rulings being discarded. I, therefore, just wanted you to caution my colleague and tell him that we should not go against your rulings in this House. view
  • 27 Sep 2018 in Senate: Asante, Bw.
  • 26 Sep 2018 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, first and foremost, I congratulate Mr. Eliud Kipchoge for winning the Marathon. That provided pride for all Kenyans. When I was the Chairman of the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare during the previous Parliament, we went to watch the Olympics. When you see a Kenyan running, you imagine that you are the one running in that field. Even before the race is over, during the last lap, that is when you stand up and are proud to be a Kenyan because The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. • 26 Sep 2018 in Senate: you know that a Kenyan is winning the race. I praise Mr. Eliud Kipchoge for winning the Berlin Marathon. Secondly, it is unfortunate that after the athletes have brought glamour and pride to this country, nobody cares about them once they retire from athletics. I plead with the Government that our sportsmen and women should not be left to suffer even here in the “City of Champions.” There are athletes who brought honour and glory to this country but today they are languishing in poverty. I have read stories of some of them. I urge the Government that at least ... view
  • 25 Sep 2018 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, once you have made a ruling on a particular subject that is on the Floor, that is final. I do not see the reason my colleagues keep on going to and fro, whereas you have made a ruling on this matter. Is it in order? Can we move on? view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you have just said something, but I do not know whether that was an overview of this debate. view
