• 30 Nov 2017 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, is my colleague in order, as a lawyer, to say that those people who commit crimes have a mental problem? A mental problem is totally different from a criminal act. Is it in order for him to impute what is totally misleading? If someone is sick in the mind, it does not mean that they will commit a crime. Some of these criminal acts are conducted by people who are not sick in the mind. Is he in order? view

This response basically amounts to belittling the Senate for reasons known to the Minister in charge of Interior and Coordination of National Government services. Is he in order to use call other distinguished Senators sitting on this side as “hypocrites” and with “doublespeak”? view

Kuunda kamati ambayo itaangalia njia ya kugeuza zile sheria za uchaguzi, hasa tukizingatia kwamba juzi tulikuwa na kesi kortini na Mahakama ya Upeo ilitoa uamuzi wake na kusema turudi kwa uchaguzi tena. Litakuwa jambo la kinyume cha zile sheria na uamuzi wa Mahakama ya Upeo ikiwa tutabadilisha sheria ya uchanguzi. Tumeambiwa tuende tukafanye uchaguzi kulingana na sheria. As much as I would not want to interject my colleague, I think it is prudent for a colleague to avoid mentioning another colleague if he is not in the House. That can only happen if that colleague was in the House and has participated in that particular issue. I think that it is in bad faith and it does not show any form of deference when a colleague decides to mention Sen. Wako and others in the House.
