  • 21 Nov 2013 in Senate: Thank you Mr. Speaker, Sir, for allowing me to contribute on this statement and for bringing this House to this position. I congratulate you and I want to say that we have a responsibility as a House. We have to take up our place as the Senate. I attend many meetings where we are not recognized because we do not take up our position properly. If we are to support the ruling that was read very well - I probably should be saying this in a Kamukunji - we should play our role and take up our positions seriously. Mr. ... view
  • 19 Nov 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I rise to, first of all, commend the Mover of this Motion for a very well thought out and researched Motion which, surely, touches on the hearts of every one of us in this country. Why am I saying this? In my own right, I am a farmer. Secondly, God gave us the best land in the world in which you can grow anything from flowers for export, our coffee, tea, vegetables for export. When I moved this Motion this morning, I said that water is life. That has been demonstrated in this Chamber, this morning, by the contributions that have been made. I have been humbled and touched by the sentiments that have been raised. It is crucial that this country addresses this issue as a matter of urgency. While I thank the Senators who have supported this Motion, I would like to say that water harvesting is a lifeline. ... view
  • 24 Oct 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The issue regarding our security is at stake. The Committee in charge should handle this issue more seriously. Things are just happening. In today’s newspaper, there is a story about the “white widow.” If we had enough CCTV cameras in our country, then we would have known whether she is in this country. We seem to be handling this matter with a lot of laxity. The Committee involved should move with speed to save our lives. view
