  • 4 Dec 2013 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think that the issue of security is taking a new dimension day by day. This is because when we see a picture of Members of Parliament supervising the burning of a lorry and then no grilling of the same Members of Parliament has taken place, it is a pity. I think that we need to stop these crazy acts. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I do not know who decided that people must be butchering each other in North Eastern. It has become a norm. It seems like it is not an issue to the security ... view
  • 21 Nov 2013 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to congratulate you for fighting hard for this House. One thing I have observed is that during the induction, if there was any that was done to the Members of the Lower House, something must have gone amiss. This House should request for another induction because that was not done very well. If you go through the Constitution, you will find that it is very clear on this. The Lower House seems to get away with issues. It is my opinion that this House requests for another induction so that the mandate of each House ... view
  • 21 Nov 2013 in Senate: Asante, Bi.
  • 31 Oct 2013 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think some investigations need to be done by the Committee because we really need to know whether the Chairperson is ignorant or purely arrogant. By the time I heard her statement about three days ago, she really personalized the matter of the Members of the County Assemblies (MCAs). She was referring to ugali being on the table and actually the person who was prepared to have the ugali never meant to have it. This is too personal. We need to find out whether she is ignorant because, then we could be dealing with the wrong ... view
  • 30 Oct 2013 in Senate: Asante, Bw.

  • 3 Jul 2013 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for the opportunity to contribute to this very useful and important Motion moved by Sen. Obure. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, most of my colleagues in the Senate have contributed to this Motion. They have said most of the things that might need to be said, but because this is a very important Motion, there have to be issues that will always be brought out to ensure that what rightfully belongs to the people of Kenya, they get it. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, compensation is a very dear issue to most of the people who ... view
  • 2 Jul 2013 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Mr. Speaker, Sir. Is Sen. Orengo in order to impute that Senators from the Jubilee side are not willing and are not committed to devolution when they air their views on this Motion in the House? It is the right of Senators to express their views without any fear that they may be adjudged by any one of us. I think that we have not even gotten to the Motion itself that the Senator has brought to the Floor of the House. Now that he has brought and prosecuted his matter he ... view
